Letter from John J. Herrera to the Honorable J.C. Machuca describing in detail the accomplishments of his trip to Washington, "The exclusion of our people from serving on petit, grand juries and as grand jury commissioners goes to the very fundamentals that we, of LULAC hold dear [...] The case was argued [...] we were very well received [...] This is the first time in the history of our people that a case involving the civil rights of Latin Americans has been heard by the Supreme Court of the United States."
