Arthur Boyd Winn, Jr.
Arthur B. Winn, Jr. went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 16, 2000. Arthur, an only child, was born
to the late Arthur B. Winn, Sr. and the late Mattie Lou Winn on October 29, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois.
He was a ray of sunshine which lit the path for all people around him, and those who crossed his path were
blessed with his kind words and loving heart.
A believer in education, he attended the University of Indiana where he majored in Fine Arts and minored in
Mathematics. He received his Masters in Logistics from the Air Force Institute of Technology at Wright
Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, Ohio.
He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. for over 50 years, and was a life member.
He served his country in the United States Air Force in Special Weapons and was employed at Kelly Air Force
Base for over 40 years in various capacities.
He was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for over 40 years serving as Lay Leader and
Lay Speaker. An avid Bible scholar, he taught the Word of God to many who sought an understanding of the
Scriptures. He held numerous offices in the local, district and conference level of the United Methodist Church.
He was one of the founding members and Scoutmaster of Troop 96 with the Boy Scouts of America in San
Antonio, producing over seven Eagle Scouts.
An accomplished musician, he played a number of years with the Edwin Combo and locally with the Ebony
Fashion Fair.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife for over 44 years Elvira; his two sons Michael Boyd Winn and
Stephen Lloyd Winn and his wife Yvette; his five daughters, Nollie Mae Price and her husband William, Vickie
Elaine Winn, Karen Ann Winn-Snipes and her husband Marvin, Tracy Louise Banks and her husband Lloyd,
Stacy Ruth Scott and her husband Lewayne; and 18 grandchildren.
