Calvin OdettThomas
Calvin Oclel Thomas was the fourth child Born to Susie A. and
(Burton J. Thomas on February22,1940 inSan Antonio, lews.
Calvin attended public schools in San Antonio and graduated
from Centred Migh School Me attended the University of
Te^ps in Austin, Mozvard University in 'Washington, (D.C. and
completed fiis college career at M$wy'orf^Unwersity in (hfew
for^City.
Me lived in (bfew yorfiCity for the past thirty-thru years. Me
tins a Language Translator and Speech Tditor at the United
Orations during the U-Thant Administration. Afterwards, he
worf&d as a computer systems analyst on 'WallStreet. At the
time of his demise, he mas employedat theSkgdden, Arps, Slate,
(Meagerand JlamLawJirm.
Calvin mas a devout Christian. Me mas christened as a child at
Second(Baptist ChurchinSan Antonio. Until his death, he was
a member of the Canaan (Baptist Church ofChrist in tX$wcyorki
Dr. eWyatt Tee 'Walfyr, Sr., pastor. Me was also affiliated with
the Christian Science Church.
Me was an accomplished musician, pianist/organist.
Calvin was dearly loved by fiis friends and colleagues in (hfew
ybrf^who praised his talents and attributes highly. Along with
his professional commitment, he had an equal enthusiasm for
helping fusfellowman (as all men wen his brothers) donating
countless hours to those less fortunate by counseling, feeding,
clothing, and supporting their assimilation into society. For
Calvin lived his life and believed in the scripture that reads, 'I
have shozm you all things, how that so laboring ye ought to
support the weaJQ and to remember the words it is more blessed
togive than to receive.' That he who lovedQodlove fis brother
also.'
Calvin leaves to mourn fiis precious memory his sister, Tessye
Thomas Carroll, a brother, 'Burton Thomas, Los Angeles, Calif;
a brother, Cecily. Thomas; a sister-in-law,'Eva Thomas; an
uncle, OdellPenned, Sr., Seguin,Te?(ps; several nephews, nieces,
cousins and other relatives and friends.
