A Tribute to Our Grandfather: "Poppo
~ by Stephanie D. Pearson
Not many can say the story of life
that I may be able to tell
A robust laugh fills my mind
along with cigar smells
A bursting glow of sunshine
ever evident in his smile
Stetson hats with button-down shirts
yes this was your style
Pocket change for the grandkids
with open hands we'd run
For peppermint candy, a soda pop
and even bubble gum
The den it was your castle
and the easy chair your throne
It will be hard to accept
that God has called you Home
A strong family legacy
built in love throughout time
Forever cherished in our hearts
and always in our minds
