Verna Delle Price was the seventh child of
the late William Edmond and Winnie Bland. She
was born in Brookston, Texas. Soon after her
birth, her family moved to Texarkana, Texas.
At an early age, she was converted and baptized.
Her mother passed away when she was very young.
Verna Delle was reared by a wonderful step-
mother, Mrs. Georgia Bland.
In 1924, the family moved to San Antonio,
Texas arid the same year, Verna Delle joined
Corinth Baptist Church; where she remained until
her death.
Verna Delle attended the elementary, junior
and high schools and St. Phillips Junior College
of San Antonio, Texas.
On August 3, 19^3, she was united in matri-
mony to George T. Price. To this union four
children were born, two preceding her in death.
She made notable contributions as & Civil
Service employee with the Federal Government,
from which service she retired May 3S 1971.
Verna Delle dedicated her life to her fami-
ly, parents and her church. Even when her heal-
th began to fail, she continued to do her duty
as a loyal member serving faithfully in mapy
auxiliaries of the church.
She leaves to mourn her passing away, her
faithful husband, George T. Price, two sons,
George, Jr. and William, two daughter-in-laws,
Brenda and Nollie Price, two grand-children,
Kelly and Kerry Price, one sister, Lady George
Watts and one brother, Artman Bland, and a host
of relatives and friends.
