Obituary
Robert Ben Tittman entered into
eternaC rest, Sunday, JuCy 2, 2006. 3-fe was
born Aprif 22, 1923 to Joe and Inez lYard
Tittman in Navasota, Texas.
3-fe confessed his be fief in Christ at an
earfy age, and kept the faith throughout his
Cife. We attended focaf schoofs prior to being
inducted into the United States Army during
lYorCdyVar II. After corrvp feting his tour of
duty, he was honor ah fy discharged from the
miutary; and he chose to make San Antonio
his home. 3-fe met and married the Cove of his
Cife, Mattie Marie 3{odges-T>onahue. 3fe was
a devoted husband arid father for 59 years.
Together, they were the foving parents of six
beautiful chifdren who brought joy and
Caughter to their hearts. Robert aCso worked
as a civiC service empCoyee for 39 years,
retiring as an aircraft mechanic from XeCCy
Air force 'Base, San Antonio, Texas in 1980.
Hobert united with Mount Zion first
Baptist Church under the pastorage of
Reverend T). Manning Jackson. In keeping
with his commitment to Christ, hefaithfuffy
served in various capacities in the church.
3fe served as member and charter supervisor
of Mission#42 (Now mission #14), member of
Usher Board #2, Board member of Mount
Zions Sheltering Arms for the eCderCy, and
member of Church Troperty Committee, aCCof
which he thoroughfy enjoyed
Hobert was preceded in death by his
mother, father, and sister Tear Cine Morrison.
3-fe feaves to cherish his memory, his
foving wife, Mattie; one son, IViCCiam
Donahue of ArCington, yirginia; five
daughters, Linda D. ferguson, Leawood,
Xansas, Barbara Jo RiCey, San Antonio,
Texas, CaroC Tittman Davis, Tasadena,
Cadfornia, ^Vanessa X. Hay, and Tracey L.
Tittman, San Antonio, Texas; seven grand
chifdren, twefve great-grandgrandchifdren,
other relatives and friends.
