Milton Ray Miles was born in San Antonio, TX to Melvin Clay Miles and
Mandy Lee Neal Miles (Turbin) on November 28, 1953. He was the second
son of six children from this union. He was preceded in death by both parents
and brother Melvin Miles, Jr.
Milton accepted Christ and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church at the age of
9. At the age of 11 Milton and his entire family joined Mt. Zion First Baptist.
During the past seven years, while living in California, Milton served as the
Lay Pastor for Crossroads City of Hope in Compton, CA.
He attended Cuney Elementary, Riley Middle School and graduated from Sam
Houston High in 1972. During high school, Milton worked at the Towers of
Americas as valet. Milton joined the US Army in 1975 and was deployed to
Korea. In 1977, he briefly taught middle school on the Southside of San
Antonio and then rejoined the Army. After separation from the Army, Milton
returned to the Towers of America where he worked as Chief of Security.
Milton then was employed by the United States Postal Service followed by
working at Kelly AFB. While living in California, he and his wife managed
residential properties.
He married Marie Richardson in 1978 and with this union a son was born,
Milton Miles II. He also married Earline Stokes in 1984 and with this union
they had a daughter, Lauren Stokes Harvey. In 1989, he married his soul mate
Jeweline Estrada in which he became a father to her children, LaShawn
Fischer, Melvin Johnson, and Tavia Jackson-Tealer.
On May 29, 2011, Milton Miles transitioned from this world to his eternal
home with our Lord and Savior. He leaves behind his wife and soul mate,
Jeweline Miles; Children: Milton Miles II, Lauren Harvey, LaShawn Fischer,
Melvin Johnson (Therri), and Tavia Jackson-Tealer (Ronald); and nine
grandchildren; Brandon, Bryanna, Jordan, Taylor, Quincy, Milan, Pierce, Ray-
sean, and Jaden(who preceded him in death; Siblings: Michael, Larry
(Sibley), Mary Hardemon (John), Phillip (Vivian), Monica Rollerson (Larry),
and Evelyn Miles Hardeman; Nieces and Nephews, Andrea Franklin, Wendell
Hardemon (Melissa), Tykisha, Monique Williamson, Nigel Hardeman, Phillip
II, and Tiffany; and eight great nieces and nephews. Along with a host of
relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
Milton was a special soul, who was able to bring a smile to each individual,
lucky enough to cross his path. Known for his charisma and charm, he could
light up the room. He had the ability to counsel (invited or uninvited) and you
would receive wise advice. He was loved by all!
Although, we'll miss him, we know that he is at rest in the arms of our Lord!
