Tommie Ray McVea Jr. was the first child born
to Tommie Ray Sr. and Ruth McVea. He was born
on August 3, 1948. He attended the public schools
of San Antonio and finished Phillis Wheatley with the
class of 1967. He continued his formal education
at Prairie View A. & M. College, Prairie View,
Texas. He was just home from Prairie View for the
week end. He was converted and baptized at an
early age under the pastorate of our present pastor,
Rev. John A. Kemple. He was a faithful member
and a lovable person, always carried a smile.
His survivors are a mother, Ruth Rice; a father,
Tommie Ray McVea Sr. ; three sisters, Ester,
Leatha D. , Sandra Rice; two brothers, Robert and
George Rice; two grandmothers, Mrs. John A.
Kemple, Mrs. Daniel McVea; two grandfathers,
Mr. Felton Carter, Mr. Daniel McVea Sr. ; and a
large number of uncles and aunts and a countless
number of relatives and friends.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The family wishes to express appreciation xor the
flowers, words of sympathy and the many acts of kind-
ness rendered during their bereavement.
