When my life's brief story here shall end forever

Mr. Artist Kelley was born on September 5, 1921 in
San Augustine county, Texas. He attended the school there
and united with Mount Horeb Baptist Church in his youth.
He came to San Antonio in 1942, where he resided until his
death. In November, 1943 he was united in noiy matrimony
to Miss Ever Lee Cobb, and to this union one child was born,
Patricia Irene.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where
he served as an officer, trustee, and president of the
Usher Board, a duty he dearly loved. The church to him
was a place to serve and to be strengthened to serve.
Wednesday, October 13, 1976, he was called to rest,
after a lengthy illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs.
Zver Lee Kelley, one daughter, Mrs. Willie E. Covington, Sr.
his mother, Mrs. Annie Lee Kelley, San Augustine, Texas.
Three brothers -- Mr. L. J. Kelley and Willie E. Kelley, San
Antonio, and Mr. Young Kelley, Los Angeles, California, four
sisters -- Mmes. Lula Mae Lucas, Hattie Mangram and Yvonne
Smith, Los Angeles, California and Mrs. Florence Marshall,
Longview, Texas. Three grandchildren, Pamela Benita, Willie
Jr., and Artist V^nce Covington, a host of relatives and
friends.
