Obituary
Catherine Handson was born February 7,1916. She
entered into rest on February 5,1998. Nicknamed
"Lady Bird" by some and "Cat" by others, she was
the youngest of seven children, and was preceded
in death by the other immediate family She
attended school in the San Antonio System and
went on to college at Prairie View College. She was
employed at Kelly A.F.B., Texas for 27 years retiring
in 1977.
Her Faith m Christ was confessed at an early age
where she became a member of New Light Baptist
Church. At New Light Baptist Church, she served
as Church Clerk (Recording), as an usher, teaching
Sunday School and serving as Bible School leader.
Lady Bird also served m the Women's Auxiliary
While attending the National Convention, she
served as Statistician in the Women's Department.
At the National Congress, Miss Handson served
as Historian.
She leaves to cherish her memories numerous
nieces and nephews.
