BITUAHY
Mrs. Susie Jones Glosson Francis was born in
Gonzales, Texas on May 27, 1879, to the union of
Mr. and Mrs. John and Pervina Jones. This union
was blessed with seven children.
Susie attended school in Gonzales and moved to
San Antonio to live with an uncle.
In the early Nineteen Hundreds, Susie met and
married Calvin Glosson and to this union three girls
s,nd three boys were born. Her husband and four of
her children preceded her in death. Later she
married Mr, Joseph Francis who also preceded her in
death.
Mrs. Francis united with Second "Baptist Church
in the early Nineteen Hundred and Forties and worked
with the Missionary Society and later became a member
of the Home Visitation Committee, Mrs. Francis was
honored as "Mother of the Year," and the oldest liv-
ing mother by the Mission Guild and the Martin Luther
King Guild respectively. The Fraternal organization
affiliation involves The Order of the Eastern Star,
The Golden Circle and the Court of Calanthe.
She leaves to mourn her passing, two devoted
daughters, Mrs. Nina Jackson of Portland, Oregon and
Mrs. Mabel Washington of this city? a son-in-law,
Mr. T. L. Washington; seventy-four loving and caring
grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great
grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and loving
friends.
