Mrs. Alex Waugh were in Rosen-
berg Sunday visit ing in t he home
of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Davis
and family.
Mr. and Mr.-. CeeU Long and
son. Bob, wi re in Austin Tues-
day evening of last week, to
have dinner with their daughter
and sister, Mr.-. Don Seldon atui
Mr. Seldon, and later attended
the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
Concert pre .-en ted in the Munici-
pal Auditorium. Both Mr. and
Mrs. Seldon are members of the
Orchestra.

Aided by Christian medical
supervision and nursing care, 15
days after the top (eight inches
in diameter) of a Black Jack dead
tree -truck mi on the shoulder
and head, I am thankful to be
back hom<. The tree 1 was pull-
ing over with too short a chain
attached to my tractor nearly
shattered the left side of my
chest.
Today 1 am more than ever
ulad to He in America, where it
ha- been shown me how much is
achieved because of our inspired
desire to -erve one another. l!y

I had a prolonged opportunity to

fully aiding my recovery and see-
ing after the welfare of my lit

many friend.-, who have prayed
and undertaken to aid by your
own material gift> to the needs
of my wife and two little girls.
Oui girls have not missed a day
from school. I am made aware
and thankful that you, too, are
rendering a service inspired by
your love of God.
Indeed, small could be my re
ward of you, but great is your
investment because of the re
ward- and records promised and
kept by the Eternal God! In
deed, because of your noble ser-
vices in His Name, as we are
able t<> give thanks, He has pro-
mised to share Hi> joys togeth-
er with you and with us'
As 1 lay be.-ide my tractor,
calling in vain for help too far
away to be heard. I prayed one
brief prayer: "Lord, if you
have anything more for me to
do, please give me the strength
to get up. a- 1 cannot by my-
self." Then 1 realized that my
right arm whs -till useable, and
that my legs were unharmed. 1
turned in spite of knife like
pain from a nb sticking in my
left lung, and a dislocated ii-ft
-houlder, and broken collar bone,
raised myself with my right arm,
-taggering up, made my way
up-hill a block and a half to the
hoti-. There two young friends
just back from hunting took no-
to the hospital. With the ad
ditional burden of ugar diabet-
with which I have -truggled f
over 30 years—well, God surely
must ha\/> something more for
me to do. And I hope to 'ind '
omo benefit to perform for you,!
here in Bastrop.
Like a ;parrow I had fallen;,
like a child I prayed in helph -s-
ne--; like a Father, the Eternal
had heard at the proper moment.
One added lesson through this— i
I have learned how much people 1
suffer today when broken ar<i j

Recovering out of thi exper ,
