State Draft Quota
For July Calls
For 382 Men
AUSTIN—The state quota for
Texas draft boards in July calls
for 382 men, Colonel Morris S.
Schwartz, state Selective Ser-
vice director, announced recent-
ly.
The state's July call of .'{82
compares with a quota of 281
for June and 272 for May. The
July call is the state's share of
a national quota of 8,000 men,
all for the Army. The June na-
tional quota wa.s 6,000.
Colonel Schwartz al-o an-
nounced that, in spite of the
-light rise in the state quota,
no call for pre induction physi-
cal and mental examinations for
July would be issued.
Local board quotas jr the
July call already have been fi-
gured and were sent to the
state s 1 :J7 local board- Monday.
The quota will be filled with
men who are at least 22 years
old on July 1, with the excep*
tion of volunteers or delin*
quent-, who may be younger.
