Methodist Church held a joint
Christmas party on Tuesday of
last week at the home of Mrs.
K. W Loveless. 0. "-hostesses
were Mrs. S. M. Hardt, Mrs. H.
H. Litton and Mrs. Clarence Dol
pener.
Program chairmen, Mrs. .Jack
Claiborne and Mrs. Tracy Chal-
mers. presented "Christmas at
Home". They were assisted by
Mrs. Karl Penman and Mrs.
Lincoln Farris and a choir of
little girls, Sandra and Linda
Farris. Harriet Wieting. Mary
Lynn Claiborne and Lynne Love-
less, with Miss Ann Loveless ac-
companying at the piano. Mrs.
W. E. Maynard led the devo-
tional and Mrs. Fred 1'. Bishop
gave the closing prayer. The
above named girls sang "Oh
Christina.- Tree" and passe*I out
gifts to those present.
Decorations throughout the
house were in keeping with the
Christmas season. Refreshment.-
consisted of cake snowballs, cof-
fee and hot chocolate were served

ing, December 22 at 7:30 o'
clock in a formal candlelight
ceremony at St. Paul's American
Lutheran Church in Columbus.
The bride i- the daughter of
Mi. and Mrs. Kdwin Loyce Scog-
in of Alley ton. She is a grad-
uate of tthe Columbus High
School and at present is a jun
ior student at the University of
Texas in Austin, majoring in
business education.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ran
dolph Oscar Miller, the bride-
groom is a gradute of the Ra.-
ttop High School, and at present
is a senior at Southwest Texas
State Teachers College in San
Marcos.
The Rev. G. Wolf officiated
at the ceremony before an altar
decorated with white gladiola-
and lighted tapers, with a white
flocked Christmas tree in the
background. Organ mus'c was
played by Miss Cornelia Fowler,
and Dick Dickinson of San Mar-
cos -ang "Because" anil "The
Lord's Prayer".
Given in marriage by her fath
er, the bride wore a .-ilk taffeta,
princes.- styled wedding gown
with a chapel length train. It was
fa.-hioned with portrait neckline
and stand-up collar in the back,
forming a V effect in front with
lace and pearl trim. The lontr
sleeves were tapered into a point
at the wrist. Hei finger tip veil
of illusion was attached to a
juliet hat trimmed in pearls and
irridescent ribbon. She carried
a white orchid and white rose-
on a seed pearl trimmed white
Bible, which was a gift from
the groom.
Attending the bride as maid
of honor wa.- her sister. Miss
Carolyn Ann Scogin. Flower girl
was Miss Clara Gail Schultz of
Austin. Bridesmaids were Mrs.
Dick Dickinson of San Marcos,
Miss Erlene Bauer of Columbus
and Miss Jo Beth Cherry of
Kdna. The attendants dresses
were semi-formal length of ir
ridescent copen blue taffeta with
full circle skirts. The necklines
dipped to a low V effect in the
back with full length pleated
streamers. They wore copen blue
satin shoes to match, and hats
of taffeta with silver crochet
trim. They carried uhite roses
ir cop'ii blue net with irrides-
cent ribbons.
The bridegroom w.ts attended
by Alvin Dunn of Giddings as
best man. Other attendants in-
cluded Dick Reedy of Bastrop,
Winston Miller and Kent Hug
gins, both of Austin and Wm.
,J. Nolan. Ring bearer wa-' Bob
by Gcige of Giddings.
For her daughter's wedding,
Mr.-. Scogin cho«e a wedge wood
blue satin dres- with scalloped
lace and sequin trim. She wore
matciiing acc« sorie- and a cor
sage of white orchids. The
groom's mother wa attired in

and she wore a white orchid cor-

iately following the ceremony

Holy Night". A trio composed
of Mrs. Henry Schuyler, Mrs.
