TAKE NOTICE that an flec-
tion will b - held in the City of
Basrop, Texas, on the >th day
cf April. 1954, on the proposi-
tions and at the place more par-
ticularly set forth in the resolu
tion and order calling the elec-
tion adopted by the t'ity Coun-
cil on the sth day of March,
1954, which is a- follows:
WHEREAS, the City Council
of tht City of Bastrop, Texas,
deems it advisable and to the
t>est interest of -aid City to sub-
mit to the resident qualified pro-
perty taxpaying voters of said
City the proposition of the is
suanct of $70,000.00 revenue
bonds of said City for the pur-
pose of financing the construc-
tion of extension and improve
merits to the waterworks system
of -.aid City, and the propdVition
of tin* issuance of $80,000.00 re-
venue bonds of said City for the
purpose of financing the con-
struction of extensions and im-
provements to the sewer system
of said Cjty |
THEREFORE. BE TT RESOL-
VED AND ORDERED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BASTROP. TEXAS:
That an election be held in the
City of Bastrop. Texas, on the
f.th day of April, 1954, which
date is not less than fifteen (15)
days nor more than thirty (30)
days from the date of this reso-
lution and order, at which elec-
tion th. following propositions
shall be submitted to the resi-
dent. qualified property tax pay-
ing voters of said city, who own
taxable property in said City and
who have duly rendered the same
for taxation, for their action
thereupon:
PROPOSITION NO. l
Shall the City Council of the
City of Bastrop. Texas, be auth-
orized to issue $70,000.00 reve
nue bonds of said City, maturing
serially over a period of years
not to exceed twenty (20) years
from their date, bearing interest
at a rate not to exceed four (4
per cent) per cent per annum,
for the purpose of financing the
construction of extensions and
improvements to the waterworks
system of said City, and to pro-
vide for the payment of the prin-
cipal of and interest on such
bonds solely by pledging the net
revenues derived from the op-
eration of the waterworks sys-
tem of said City; or in the event
that the City Council be author-
ized to issue sewer system re-
venue bonds as submitted in Pro-
position No. 2. to issue combined
waterworks and sewer system re-
venue bonds iri the maximum a-
mount of $150,000.00, and to
pledge solely the net revenues
of the combined waterworks and
fewer system to the payment of
the principal of and interest on
(said combined waterworks and
sewer system revenue bonds.
PROPOSITION NO. 2
Shall the City Council of the
City of Bastrop, Texas, be au-
thorized to issue $80,000.00 re-
venue bonds of said City, matur-
ing serially over a period of
years not to exceed twenty (20)
years from their date, bearing
interest at a rate not to exceed
four (4 per cent) per cent per
annum, for the purpose of fi-
nancing the construction of ex-
^tenclonu and imprbvement to
tV.e sewer system of said City,
and to provide for the payment
of the principal of and interest
on such bond* solely by pledg-
ing the net revenues derived from
the operation of the sewer sys-
tem of said City; or in the e-
vent that the City Council be
authorized to issue waterworks
system revenue bonds as submit
ted in Proposition No. 1, to is
sue combined waterworks and
.sewer system revenue bonds
in the maximum amount of $150,-
000.00, arid to pledge solely the
net revenues of the combined
waterworks and sewer system to
the payment of the principal of
and interest on said combined
waterworks and sewer system re-
venue bonds.
That said election shall be held
at the CITY HALL, within said
City, and the following named j

cessive weeks, the date of first
publication being not less than
fourteen (14) full days prior to
