NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION
By Ouida Spencer
I resolve each day to give.
Not to receive, but freely give
And share with others what 1 own;
And envy none that I have known
I resolve always to be
A kinder, thoughtful friend to thee
golden deed
ai<- in need
And do each lay a
Helping those who
I resolve humbly to pray,
That 1 might walk with God each
da y,
Anil may these resolutions stand
Broken not by any man.

"I said to the man who stood at the gate
ol the New Year,
Give me a light that I may tread safely
into the unknown,
And he replied ,
Go out into the darkness,
Put thy hand into the hand of God,
This shall be to thee better than light,
and safer than a known way."
