Let's Re-Elect
Henry G. Lehman
"The PEOPLE'S Friend"
STATE REPRESENTATIVE
In giving HENRY G. LEHMAN a majority
of almost 2 to 1 over his nearest oppo-
nent, the people of this district have said
they approve of his record and DO NOT
want a change!
HENRY G. LEHMAN always has shown
the people the kind of Farm-to-Market
road program that he favors by fighting
to tax natural gas piped out of the
State of Texas.
HENRY G. LEHMAN
Against this man stands the
most powerful lobby in the
history of Texas, seeking to
defeat with unlimited funds
the man whose record shows
that he has fought for a natu-
ral gas tax to build Farm-to-
Market roads.
WHY DO THE NATURAL GAS COMPANIES HATE
HENRY G. LEHMAN
These Are The Reasons
1. BECAUSE IT WAS HENRY G. LEHMAN
natural gas piped out of Texas to get money to build Farm-1o-Market roads in Texas, and
throughout Lee, Burleson and Bastrop Counties.
2. BECAUSE HENRY G. LEHMAN %Szr£STi
but was a transaction tax in the form of a constitutional amendment on which Lehman
voted for submitting it to the people of Texas for them to vote on. This was Gov. W. Lee
O'Daniel's transaction tax on which he publicly "called the roll."
who helped pass the
gave ex-
3. BECAUSE IT WAS HENRY G. LEHMAN
soldiers in Texas the opportunity to buy a farm or ranch at low interest rates, and gave them
forty years to pay for it.
HENRY G. LEHMAN is the only candidate in the race who has
lived in this district MUCH longer than one year, having lived
in Giddings all his life!
HENRY G. LEHMAN has pledged the people to correct or repeal the automobile inspec-
tion law whic.h was passed to save lives, by a vote of 117 ayes to 12 noes, but those who
set up the requirements exceeded their authority and went too far.
HENRY G. LEHMAN waived his Legislative immunity .*v« d volunteered hi* services to the
armed forces of the United States but wan • -w" due to an injury received while play-
ing football for Giddings High School. No o i* truthfully say that Lehman did not
make an effort to see military service.
HENRY G. LEHMAN led the fight that provided $60,000,000 for Farm-to Market roads
that we have received and was the man who helped pass the law taxing natural gas piped
out of Texas which was recently declared unconstitutional by a district court in Travis
County, but this decision has been appealed to the Court <( Civil Appeals. It is Lehman's
opinion as well as that of the Texas Attorney General*!, Department that upper courts will
hold this law constitutional and we will receive the additional $15,000,000 per year so bad-
ly needed for Farm-to-Market roads, which Henry Lehman has worked so hard for.
Don't be misled by the rumors, the half-truths and the political
propaganda . . . check the record and you will see that LEHMAN
fought for YOU, not the natural gas companies!
