"We ate about to haW in Oalveston
a Hotel that is worthy o(> the name;

Messrs. Pricu, • fierce & Co. have
erected on the gi ouml where the old

magnificent proportions. The new

lft! is three rtfld one-half stories high,
and Men nies One-hfllf of an entire
square, the court house and jail occu-
pying the other half. It win be open-

public nextLMonday, the 29th last. —
By iuvitati6n of the Proprietors, I
ok" a view of the premises this
morning, and gleaned the following
facts:'- ■ ;•■/;■ "" >*$"* ' '
This Hotel can ftirnish sleeping ac-
commodntJons for two hundrod per-

three bdndred and fifty. It htM five
{>rivate parlors, one large public pnr-
or, thirty ladies' rooms, forty three
rooms for single gentlemen, bar-room,
billiard room, and reading room.
There is gas in every room. in the
house. The dining-room is 100 feet
by 85. The kitchen is built separate
from the house and is fire-prortf.
There are verandahs, aud galleiu
around the house. Messrs. Price,
Pierce & Co. have furnished, this ho-
tel in sftmpttions style, the carpets
'being of the finest texture, and the
furniture of the latest patterns. Their
wines, liquors and ales are direct im-
portations, and were purchased in
bond at New York. Private omni-
busses and baggage-wagons will al-
ways be in readinvssr and no ruaucrx
te?a^Hiey travellers will be employed.
e but white servantsou the prem-
ises. " Thus at last, (Jalvesnm na* a
