countycommissioners.
Mr. Editor—In a late Dumber of your
paper, is an article calling attention to the
rieetioit of County Commissioners, and
.reposing to stake the issne of the removal
of the County Seat upon their, election.—
This is at excellent proposition, and the
•only appropriate mode ,of settling that
tcsedquestion. The members constitut-
Ui& the present Board of Commissioners,
*rre all elected by large majorities ob-
tained «he votes of our own citizens,
who «w?re (and still are) favorable to the
in^ssst location of the County Seat—and
yefr^a majority of that Board are in favor
of removing the County Seat to the cen-
ter of the county, and opposed to building
5 Jail, while the County Seat remains at
its present ■ location. lu this posture of
ktfairs, it behooves such of our citizens as
nre really in favor of retaiuing the County
f^eat at it* present location, to take sucb
t eps as im? be necessary to have them-
s *t\ve*properly represented ij the Board
of Commissioners. With reference to this
Matter, I have heard the names of Neill
McNeill, Milton Garrett and William S.
>mnh Esqs., spoken of as suitable candi-
n«« tn wyMBenr>the interests of Saa Au-
gustine, in the race of County Commission-
ers. In this manner, this a'i-important
iuewiou can be settled, without involving
%ny of the other candidates for county of
iices in the content.
A Citizen of San Augustine.

An Angel Visit.—-The Kenton
(Ohio) Eepnblican, of a late date, pub-
lishes rather a marvelous account of an
interview between an intelligent little
girl, (the daughter of a Mr. Charles,
t ariding in Hancock county, in that
tate,) and an angel, in which the latter
>ld the little child at what time, and in
v-hat manner it would die; and even
^re told the time and place of the preach-
tg of it3 funeral, and by whom—all of
• hich proved true, to. the letter—the
other of the child bearing, testimony to
te fact—herself having seen and talked
* ith the heavenly messenger, face to
ce! The lady is considered to be ir-
r proachable in character. . A brief
story, as reported by herself, and as
ken down by two prominent citizens
->f will goon be printed in pam-
let form. We view this in the same
i s*ht that we do the rest of spiritual-
;-ia an J ghost-seeing—as a delusion, or

thinking a well deserved popularity, honestly

as the "Rose Cotton"—planted and raised the
same on my plantation in Jasper county, and
have no hesitation in saying that it surpasses
any cotton in point of yield that I ever cultivat-

for thirty-five years—it producing on the same
quality of land and cultivation, at least 83£ per
cent, in yield, over the very best cotton that 1
have ever planted, the stalks grow large, produ-
cing large pods, and the cotton bangs well in the
pods, and from the length of the locks in the
open pods, is easy picking. My hands picking

ordinary cotton cultivated here. Having seen
this cotton for the last three years—first in my
garden in J asper, and from my own trial and ob-

been acquainted with—the staple being long and
fine. I therefore recommend it to the notice of
