COTTON.
Reports from the leading markets
snow an easy and quiet tone. The bulls
have had it all their own way for the
past two months, and have advanced
prices on this staple fully one cent per
ponnd from the lowest point. The bears
are becoming uneasy and will no doubt
make an attempt to take the bulls by
the horn, but the outlook for cotton is
strong, especially for the middling and
better grades, that are now becoming
scarce. The bulk of tbe crop being now
out of first, hands, manipulated by spec-
ulators, and the interest whether snort
or long, will be ruled for the interest of
those v io are operating to a large ex-
tent; heiWe, we may look for marked
fluctuatifes—especially in future trans-
actions. \) this section the growing
crop Is rep sented as being good, the
refreshing «spwer of rain to-day will be
of good benflt. The stock here will
