To Kill Ants.
T'his is the best way in which
to kill- ants with "high life," or
oar'oon bi-sulphido: * Set a small
cup containing so much as six
tabloapoonaful of bi-sulphido of
carbon right at the mouth of the
opening from which the ants
emerge, but so us to cover no
part of the opening. Then over
the cup and opening invert a tin
buoket and press it down into
the earth, or draw the earth up
about it, so as to exclude the air.
The air being excluded, and the
vapors of the carbon bi-sulphide
contained in the bucket, their
only moans of escape is through
tho opening that leads right into
the home of tho ants. If the
aun can shine on the bucket it is
an advantage, as the heat drives
ofi the vapors with great energy
and causes them to do their work
more rapidly. Leave the appa-
ratus in place for a day or two, or
until the "high lite hasevapor-
orated. In some oases less than
stated may do and in others more
will be required. If a bed has
more than one opening, of course
each opening is treated. The
treatment succeeds in destroying
the oolony, whether all the ants
are in it or not. This is the best
method.
Feeding Kaffir oorn to sheep
and lambs in Kansas has been
satisfactory. The oorn was
headed and heads out into one-
half inoh lengths and fed «in
troughs. The fodder was used
for roughness. Shelled corn was
fed in the morning and alfalfa
hay put in the raoks every day.

Our little boy was afflicted with
rheumatism in his knee; and at times
unable to put his foot to the floor. \ve
tried in vain everything we could
hear of that we tHought would help
him. We almost gave up in despair,
when some advised us to try Cham-
berlain's Pain Balm. We did so,
and the iivst bottle gave so much re-
lief that we got a SPcond one, and, to
our surprise, it cured him sound and
well. .7. T, Bays, Pastor Christian
