S. Vance, aged about 29 years.
The deceased was a native olNew Orleans,
of.respectable parents, and, having every facil-
ity to prosecute his studies, had reached a
position in liis.. profession that few men ac-
quire in a lifetime. He was a graduate of the
first medical schools in Paris and Austria,
and Demonstrator of Anatomy jp the Medical
Institution of New Orleans at the time of his
death. He was often consulted, in difficult
cases, by the leading men of the Medical pro-
fession in our country, and the great object of
