Health in this 'community is
not very good at this writing.
Our school will begin on Mon-
day, the 26th. Our teacher ar-
rived last Saturday, meeting
most of her pupils Sunday.
We very gladly appreciated
meeting MissBigham; hope her a
successful school; hope all the
pupils and patrons will join her
and have a fine school, for n
education is something we only
have one time to get, and then no
one ean take it away from us.
Mrs. Procter and little daugh-
ter, Edith, spent Saturday with
Mrs. Flint, having never sppnt
a more enjoyable day than that.
Thought sure they would have to
get a talking machine to assist
them to make out the day, as
they were behind with their
talking.
Regular monthly services were
held at Berea church Saturday
night and Sunday, conducted by
Rev. Townsend of BaylorCollege,
Belton, which was enjoyed by all,
§nd at 8:80 in the afternoon they
had their missionary rally of the
First 'Missionary Church of
Christ, 4n„ which they appointed
and ordained two deacons, Bro.
Lee Saffly and Bro. 8rim Lawler.
and at 7:80 services were con-
ducted by our pastor, Brother
Manning.
Miss Lou Procter and Minnie
made a flying trip to Temple
shopping Saturday.
There were a good many at-
tended the show Monday at Tem-
ple, having a big time.
Miss Bettie Thompson of
Tennessee. Valley was in our
midst Sunday, and also went to
school Monday accompanied by
Mrs. Emma Jackson and chil-
dren. Come again, Miss Bettie,
we are glad indeed to have you
with us.
Sir Jewell Jackson and grand-
father, R. B. Thomas made a fly-
ing trip to Tennessee Valley
Saturday visiting relatives.
Miss Fannie Lauler was the
guest of Miss Selma Mays Sun-
day.
Mrs. Jessie Procter is on the
sick list this week.
The Misses Vanoys were the
dinner guests of Miss Johnie
Mullholand Sunday.
The farmers are' busy drilling
in their grain this week.
Mrs. Breakbill called on Mrs.
Easley Sunday evening.
Mr. Tom Procter took his de-
parture for Cockleburr Monday,
where he will assist Bro. Boss
Long in his cotton picking.
Bro. Spears has returned from
Waco where he purchased a fine
herd of goats for J. B. Messer.
Mrs. Goode and little daughter
were the guests of Mrs. Saffly
Saturday evening.
We were glad to see such a
nice letter from Heidenheimer.
