Spring Follies To Entertain Delegates, Students
STUDENTS WELCOME

The Rice Follies of '53 will take a curtain call tonight as
the hit acts of the fall show plus many new numbers will be
presented for the T.I.S.A. delegates. "The Rice Spring Follies"
is scheduled for 8:00 at the Texas Southern University Audi-
torium. Among the featured performers will be Marilyn Webb,
Billye Littlepage, Gretchen Fer-
ris, Pat Kemp and his hillbilly
trio, Dick Thomas and the
Archi Arts Honorees and the sen-
sational dance team of Cruse and
Thomas. The show is under the di-
rection of Bud Cruse and Bobby
Lockwood who are working with
the T.S.U. school orchestra. In ad-
dition to the chorus number fea-
tured above, the "Can Can" from
the "December show will be repeat-
ed. Talent from Baylor and the
OPEN LETTER TO THE STUDENTS
TSU modern dance group will also
perform. The show is an event of
the T.I.S.A. convention but any
Rice students wishing to attend are
welcome.
The SLLS annual County Fair
will be Tuesday, March 24, at
7:30, in the Lounge of the Fon-
dren Library.
Today and tomorrow the
Texas Intercollegiate Student
Association will meet on the
Rice campus for its fifth an-
nual convention. The 240 dele-
gates who are here now are
representatives of 38 colleges
and universities from all parts
of Texas. They are anxious to
meet you. They may ask you
questions about both the aca-
demic and student life at Rice.

these students may be, please
Justice Wilson To
Address TISA Sat.
Mr. Will Wilson, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court
of Texas, will speak to the delegates of the TISA convention
Saturday night at the banquet to be held at Ye Olde College
Inn at 7:30. Mr. Wilson has received national recognition for
his drive in Dallas against organized crime, and was one of the
five District Attorneys selected
from the entire nation by the
U.S. Attorney General to ad-
vise the National Crime Con-
ference held in Washington in
February 1950.
Mr. Wilson received his law de-
gree from Southern Methodist Uni-
versity, graduating with high hon-
ors. He received the "Law" Book
award for the highest grades in
first-year class. From 1937-1941 he
was a trial lawyer for a Dallas
civil law firm, and from 1941-1942
was Assistant Attorney General of
Texas under Gerald Mann and Gro-
ver Sellers during which time he
specialized in trial work for the
State in cases involving the endow-
ment funds for the public schools
and Texas University.
Military service is also on Mr.
Wilson's record, as he saw active
' combat on Baik and Luzon in the
! last war. As Commanding Officer
of the 465th Field Artillery Battal-
ion on Northern Luzon he accepted
j the surrender of the forces of Gen-
j eral Yamashita.
Mr. Wilson has served a? Presi-
dent, District and County Attor-
neys Association of Texas.
