Jason D. Williams & Band
Jason D. Williams & Band will be live
in concert at the Sweetwater Municipal
Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April
13. Tickets are available at the Chamber
of Commerce. General admission is $10.
Reserved seating is $15.
Senior Pictures Due for
SHS Blowout Video
All photos from graduating SHS seniors, to
be used in the senior video shown at Blowout
2012, must be turned in to the SHS Library
by Friday, April 13, 2012. No more than 20
pictures per student can be submitted and
they can be from any time of a graduating
senior's life. The photos will be returned to
the students at the Blowout event.
Trent United Methodist
Trent United Methodist Church will host
a revival from Friday, April 13, to Sunday,
April 15, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday and
Saturday and at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Saturday, April 14
LSBC Fundraiser
Lamar Street Baptist Church will be sell-
ing brisket sandwiches on Saturday, April
14, starting at 11 a.m. at Wal-Mart. Funds
raised will go toward this year's week-long
home mission project that will include VBS,
church and community outreach and revival
services.
Tammy Blueford Jackson
Fundraiser
A fundraiser for Tammy Blueford Jackson
will be held at the Lions Club building on the
corner of Lamar and Arizona on Saturday,
April 14. Barbecue dinners will be sold for $8
with servings of brisket and sausage, potato
salad, red beans, peach cobbler and a choice
of other sides. Call in for orders to 325-660-
3673. Gift baskets and other items will be
raffled off during the event. Raffle tickets
are $2 each or three for $5. Tickets may be
purchased at the fundraiser or by contacting
Mica Parker or Walter and Dorthey Blueford.
Also making an appearance are the Nolan
County Cruisers and the CC Riders Classic
Car Clubs.
Family Movie Night
Family Movie Night will be held at the 4th
& Elm Church of Christ Warehouse at 6 p.m.
on Saturday, April 14. The featured movie
will be A Dolphin Tale. Popcorn and drinks
will be served.
Monday, April 16
Ladies Night
Fourth and Elm Church of Christ will
be having a ladies night on Monday, April
16, starting at 6 p.m. Register now for this
event. Dinner will be provided and there
will be two speakers, Paula Bagby and Rut
Crowley.
Tuesday, April 17
Big Country Electric Cooperative
13th Annual Meeting
Big Country Electric Cooperative will
hold its 13th Annual Meeting of the
Membership Tuesday, April 17, at The
Coliseum in Snyder. At 6 p.m., member
registration will begin and the meal serv-
ing line will open. Members and guests
are invited to enjoy a tasty Texas barbecue
meal catered by Rough Creek Catering
while listening to Cindy Wright and the
Bluff Creek Edition. The business meeting
will convene at 7 p.m. Member-owners
of Big Country Electric Cooperative are
encouraged to attend and take an active
role in the director elections and business
of their cooperative.

Agency on Aging
A representative from West Central
Texas Area Agency on Aging will be at the
SNAP Senior Center on Wednesday, April
18, at 11 a.m. to speak about Medicare pre-
ventive services, extra help and Medicare
savings programs.
Adult Literacy/ESL
The Adult Literacy/ESL class will meet
at the County-City Library Wednesday,
April 18 at 10:00 a.m. Instructors will help
you learn to read, improve your reading
skills, improve your English skills or help
you read to your children. Call 235-4978

Ribbon Cutting
A ribbon cutting will be held for Nolan
County Farm Bureau at noon on Thursday,
April 19, at 410 Lamar Street.

Veterans Readjustment
Counseling Services
The Veterans Readjustment Counseling
Services are the community-based profession-
als within the VA who welcome home the war
veteran by providing top-quality compassion-
ate readjustment assistance to the veteran and
their family in order to facilitate a successful
return to civilian life within their community.
They offer individual, group, marital and fam-
ily counseling to Combat Veterans of all wars
and their families. Counseling is also available
to any Veteran who experienced any form
of sexual harassment or sexual assault while
serving in the militaiy. In addition, bereave-
ment counseling is afforded to the families
who have lost their service member while on
Active Duty. A Vet Center Counselor will be
available in Sweetwater on Thursdays begin-
ning in December to better serve the sur-
rounding community. The Taylor County Vet
Center looks forward to serving Veterans and
their families in this community. For more

Men's Downtown Bible Class
Every Sunday, at 9 a.m., the Men's Downtown
Bible Class will meet at the Masonic Lodge.
An invitation is extended to all men to come
and enjoy coffee, donuts and worship before
church. The Masonic Lodge is located on the
corner of Oak and 4th.
Line Dancing
Beginner line dance classes with Kathy
Arrant will be held at the Elks Lodge in
Sweetwater every Friday night from 7:30-8:15
p.m., beginning Friday, Aug. 26. Cost for each
class is $6 with a portion of the proceeds going
to help support the Elks Lodge programs. For

F. Michael Cavitt Scholarship Fund
A scholarship fund has been set up in the
name of F. Michael Cavitt who was killed in
a car accident Dec. 25, 2009. The scholarship
will go to a graduating senior and band student
at Sweetwater High School. Those who would
like to make a donation to the scholarship
fund may visit any Bank of America branch
and mention the F. Michael Cavitt Memorial
Scholarship Fund. Checks and money orders
may also be mailed to Mr. and Mrs. Lester
Cavitt, 1625 San Carlos, Sweetwater, TX 79556.

Jessie Ortega Memorial Fund
The Jessie Ortega Memorial Fund has been
established with Sweetwater Independent
School District to help the migrant students
of the school district. Anyone wishing to make

Texas Military Personnel
The Salvation Army of Big Spring is proud
to announce that it has funding for Texas
military personnel who have and are currently
serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and their fami-
