The Sweetwater Theatre Arts
Department will present their UIL
One Act Play, The Cover of Life, at 7
p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the
Sweetwater High School Auditorium.
Admission is free to the public.
Retired School Personnel
The Rolling Plains Unit of Retired
School Personnel would like to invite
retired teachers and all other retired
school employees to attend their month-
ly meeting on Thursday, April 5, at the
Sweetwater Country Club for lunch at
11:30 a.m. and a program to be presented
by Wayne Jones about a group of people
known as the "Texas Gunslingers". For

Easter Egg Hunt
The Sweetwater Jaycees Annual Easter
Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, April 7, at Fraley Park located
at West Alabama and Sam Houston. The
Easter Egg Hunt is for children ages 0-9.
There will be candy and prize eggs.
Benefit for Julie Sawyers
A benefit for Julie Sawyers will be
held at the Sweetwater Elks Lodge on
Saturday, April 7, to help with the costs
of travel to and from Ft. Worth for Julie's
throat cancer treatment. Cost of a sir-
loin steak dinner and dance will be $15.
Dinner starts at 7 p.m. with an auction
to follow at 8 p.m. The dance will follow
immediately after the auction.
Friday, April 13
Jason D. Williams & Band
Jason D. Williams & Band will be live
in concert at the Sweetwater Municipal
Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April
13. Tickets are available at the Chamber
of Commerce. General admission is $10.
Reserved seating is $15.
Saturday, April 14
LSBC Fundraiser
Lamar Street Baptist Church will be
selling brisket sandwiches on Saturday,
April 14, starting at 11 a.m. at Wal-Mart.
Funds raised will go toward this year's
week-long home mission project that
will include VBS, church and community
outreach and revival services.
Family Movie Night
Family Movie Night will be held at the
4th & Elm Church of Christ Warehouse
at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 14. The
featured movie will be A Dolphin Tale.
Popcorn and drinks will be served.

Big Country Electric Cooperative
13th Annual Meeting
Big Country Electric Cooperative will
hold its 13th Annual Meeting of the
Membership Tuesday, April 17, at The
Coliseum in Snyder. At 6 p.m., mem-
ber registration will begin and the meal
serving line will open. Members and
guests are invited to enjoy a tasty Texas
barbecue meal catered by Rough Creek
Catering wiiile listening to Cindy Wright
and the Bluff Creek Edition. The busi-
ness meeting will convene at 7 p.m.
Member-owners of Big Country Electric
Cooperative are encouraged to attend

elections and business of their coopera-

A ribbon cutting will be held for
Nolan County Farm Bureau at noon on
Thursday, April 19, at 410 Lamar Street.
Saturday, April 21
NCF Golf Classic
The Nolan County Foundation's annu-
al golf classic for scholarships is set for
Saturday, April 21, at the Sweetwater
Country Club. Registration begins at 8
a.m. with a shot gun start at 9 a.m. A
Scotty Cameron Putter and a Titleist
R11S driver are being drawn for with a
100 slots board. The putter chances are
$5 each and the driver is $10 each. Each
NCF Board member is actively seeking
sponsorship and players. Call Homer

Timm, Club Pro at 235-8093 for addi-
tional information.

April Art Exhibit
The April Art Exhibit at the County-
City Library is the prophetic art of Suzan
Hughes-Kennedy, Lillian Jay Neal and
Rhonda Wilks. Their artwork will be dis-
played throughout the month of April. The
hours of the library are Monday from 1-6
p.m., Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1

Sweetwater Men's & Co-Ed
Softball Association
SMCSA will be holding meetings every
Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Jones Park. All
interested in playing are welcome to
attend. The second annual Rattlesnake
Round-Up Bash will be discussed. For

Youth Arena Football
The Sweetwater Youth Football
Association will be accepting applications
for youth arena football. The grade levels
for this year's team is current fifth and

Book Donations Sought
The County-City Library is currently
accepting donations of both adult and
children hardback and paperback books,
magazines and videos for the annual book
sale which will be held April 27 and 28 at
the Nolan County Coliseum Annex. Come
to the garage door in the alley behind
the library to unload the donations dur-
ing business hours. Call 235-4978 a few
minutes before arriving at the library to
enable staff to be ready to help. The hours
of the library are Monday from 1-6 p.m.,
Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5
p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Reckner Account
A benefit account had been set up for
Paul Reckner at First Financial Bank,

recently went through back surgery and
has been readmitted with an infection. All
donations will go towards medical bills
and travel expenses due to his hospital-
ization.

Sweetwater Fastpitch
Softball Association
The Sweetwater Fastpitch Softball
Association will be holding an aluminum
can drive this off-season. Those wishing
to participate are asked to save empty alu-
minum cans to donate to the association.
Bring empty cans - crushed or not crushed
- to the bin located in front of The Water
Jug, located at 920 E. 15th Street, across
from Trinity Baptist Church. Can dona-
tions will be cashed in to help offset costs
during the 2012 softball season.
Woman's Forum
The Sweetwater Woman's Forum meets
every second Tuesday of the month at
the County-City Library. No lunch will
be catered, but members may bring their
lunch to the meeting.
Galvan Account
An account has been set up at Texas
National Bank for Triston Galvan, who
was in an automobile accident on Friday,
Aug. 12, in Abilene. Triston is the seven-
year-old son of Joseph Galvan and grand-
son of Jose Galvan of Sweetwater. Triston
is presently at the Pediatric Intensive Car
Unit (PICU) at Cook Children's Hospital
in Fort Worth. Money will be used for the
family's traveling and lodging expenses.
