Sweetwater Arena Youth Football
Sweetwater Arena Youth Football sign-
ups will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday,
Jan. 25, at the Sweetwater Jaycees Annex.
Fourtl and fifth grade boys who played
football in fall are invited to play arena
football in Abilene at the Taylor County
Expo Center. All players will receive free
passes to Ruff Rider games. The team is
limited to the first 21 players registered.
The season is from March 12 to April 30.

The Book Review Club of Sweetwater

Cain of Sweetwater. Carol is a member of
the Book Review Club and will be review-
ing "Mennonite in a Little Black Dress,"
written by Rhonda Janzen. Guests are

The Sweetwater Intermediate School
Jump Rope Team will be performing
Thursday, Jan. 27, at Howard College in
Big Spring.

Story Hour at the County-City Library
for parents and their children will be

West Texas Heat Fundraiser
The West Texas Heat softball team will
have a fundraiser. Chicken taco lunch
plates will be served at Skeet's on I-20,
on Sunday. Jan. 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 2
p.m. Cost is $6 a plate. Meals will include
three chicken tacos, beans, rice, dessert
plus drink. Carry outs are available.
Tuesday, Feb. 1
Diabetes Support Group
Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital is
offering a free diabetic support group
meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at
the hospital's Emergency Department
Classroom (200 E. Arizona Ave.).
Beginning at 2 p.m., the hour-long pro-
gram focus on appropriate exercise
routines for individuals with diabetes.
The meeting is free to the public. For

Let's Talk Books
Let's Talk Books, the book club of the
County-City Library will meet at noon

The Sweetwater Elks Lodge is hosting
a Super Bowl party on Sunday, Feb. 6,
2011. The lodge open at 3 p.m. until
the game is over. Those attending are
encouraged to bring their favorite snack.

Valentine's Dance
A Valentine's dance and dinner, spon-
sored by the American Legion Riders,
will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12 at
Roscoe American Legion Post 227. The
meal will be served at 7 p.m., prepared by
Royce Walker. Music will be provided by
J&R DJ Music. There will be door prizes
and a 50/50 drawing. Admission is $10
each >r $15 per couple. All proceed will
benefit the American Legion Roof Fund.

Ridin for Cash Bull Bash
The Second Annual Ridin for Cash Bull
Bash will take place Saturday, Feb. 19.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and bull bash starts
at 7 p.m. at the Nolan County Coliseum
in Sweetwater. Cost for adults is $10,
children $5 and children under five years
of age get in free. All proceeds will benefit
the visually impaired children in Nolan
and Fisher Counties.

DivorceCare
A new session of DivorceCare began at
Trinity Baptist Church, 1506 Santa Fe, on
Wednesday, Jan. 12. Classes are held each
Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the
church and are facilitated by Bill Arey.
DivorceCare is a seminar and support
group for couples in crisis or those seek-
ing on-going support and encouragement
following a ( vorce. The course is designed
for entry at any level of the 13-week class.
This group is led by people who under-
stand what you are going through and
want to help. You will gain access to valu-
able DivorceCare resources to help you deal
with the pain of the past and look forward
to rebuil your life. Workbooks for the
course are 5. You may call the church
office at 235-2991 for more information or
to register )r the current class. Names and
circumstances of persons attending are
strictly confidential.
January Ait Exhibit
The January art exhibit at the County-
City Library is the portrait pencil drawings
of Jim Price. The hours for the library are
Monday from 1-6 p.m., Tuesday through
Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
