Beginning with her childhood days, sister Hill has always
been identified with the church. The early influences of her
home were most effective. Following in the footsteps of her
sainted mother, Mrs. Amanda Hall Beauchamp, she began her
religious activities in Bethel A.M.E. Church, San Antonio, Tex.
She was a member of the Second Usher Board, Class Lead-
ers Council, and very active in many other phases of the church,
she received her educational training at Douglas? High School at
St. Phillip's Junior College and Prairie View College Extension.
With great insight and humble spirit to serve where she was
needed, the local church was blessed with her presence and
efforts to do good everywhere.
Sister Hill, while a natural leader, was wise enough to be a
good follower, supporting all efforts to do for kingdom building
with the enthusiasm usually shown by many on rare occassions,
only. Her spirit was infectious, and no one could really say "'no"
to her where her church was concerned.
We have been blessed to have this real churchwomen in
ours midst laboring with us. Few, if any, who knew her will
never forget her contributions to her local church, Annual Confe-
rences, her District, or her Episcopal patriotism.
Of Sister Hill we say, Devout yet cheerful; pious not austere;
to others lenient; to God sincere.
She was a great Churchwomen
Sister Hill is survivedby her devoted husband, Mr. Harvey
Hill three sisters, Mrs. Rudy Jackson and Mrs. Bernice Parker,
Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Lucille Scallion, San Antonio;
one brother, Mr. John P. Hall, Los Angeles, California three

host of other relatives and friends.
