Obituary
Mr. Morgan Ellis Green was born February 25, 1945 to
Milton and Henrietta Green in San Antonio, Texas. He
accepted Christ at an early age and joined West Laurel
Heights AME Church under the leadership of Reverend
L. B. Napier. Morgan was educated in San Antonio and
attended Phyllis Wheatley High School and later St.
Philip's College, where he earned an Associates Degree in
Electronics. On March 27, 1965, Morgan was united in
holy matrimony with Miss Shirley Butler. To this union,
four children were born. He was preceded in death by his
parents and son Charles.
Morgan worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 15 years
until his health began to fail him and then worked as a
landscaper until his death. He later united with The Church
of the Living God Temple No. 1 under the leadership of
Bishop R. D. Washington and later Elder Rick Knighten,
where he became an ordained deacon.

In Tears
In tears we saw you sinking
And watched you fade away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But we saw you sleeping
So peaceful, so free from pain.
How could we want you back with us,
To suffer from pain again?
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
