5X3
Oh, gentle sleep, please come to me
And quell my many fears
Put peace into my aching heart
It has ached so many years.
Bright spots are dotted here and there
In all my years that's past,
But the inward peace I ever seek
Would make the spots of brightness last.
Oh, gentle sleep, please come to me
And let me rest and dream
Of snow-white clouds a -float on high
And sunbeam linking earth to sky.
So sweet this dream would be to me
As I go along life's way
I'd hitch my wagon to a star
And journes towards a brighter sky.
