OBITUARY
Ethel Leath Dawson was born November 5, 1919 to the late
William and Lucille Leath. She was the baby of twelve children;
all preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dawson was born in San Antonio, Texas on Center Street.
She graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School in 1937 and
attended St. Philip's College where she earned an associate degree
in Social Work. Her career included owning and operating a Day
Care for children for 14 years; a boarding home for mentally
retarded men for eight years, and caring for seniors in their home
for six years.
Ethel accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Paul Methodist
Episcopal Church at an early age. She married Mr. Harry Dawson
in 1984 and they had a very happy marriage until his death.
Mrs. Dawson leaves to mourn her loss her adopted brother,
Leonard Leath, Godson, Riley Carruthers; nephews: William
Leath, Joe Leath, Harold Leath, Robert Leath, Richard Leath, and
John Leath; nieces: Marilyn Young, Barbara Frazier, Pearl Reid,
and Lucille Leath; numerous great nephews and great nieces, great'
great nephews and great nieces, cousins and friends.
