Life's 'Epitome
On May 19,1997, Dr. Jerome Rutherford Cooper's soul too^flyht
and joined his Heavenly father.
He was the only child born to the parentage of the Iate Mrs. Elnora
(RetCedge Cooper Tierce and the late Mr. (Roscoe Leon Cooper in
Shreveport, Louisiana on June 17,1947. Dr. Cooper attended thepubCic
schools of Shreveport. (During his high school years, he became a Boarding
student at Saint "Peter CCaver Academy in San Antonio, Te^as. After
graduatingfrom Saint Teter CCaver in1965, (Dr. Cooper attended (Bishop
College. On May 23,1968, a (Bachelor of Arts (Degree zuas conferred
upon him by Pacific Northwestern University. Upon returning to San
Antonio in 1968, (Dr. Cooper became an employee of the San Antonio
Empress-Hews.
(Reverend Cooper accepted Christ at the age ofseven and was baptised
by his grandfather, "ReverendJames (R. (RetCedge, at "Evergreen (Baptist
Church in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was extremely active in the Church's
ministry throughout his earthly pilgrimage. (During his early adult years,

On June 6,1981, "Dr. Cooper united in holy matrimony with Miss
(Ruby Ann Johnson. 'To this union, no children were born.
"While residing in San Antonio, (Dr. Cooper has faithfully served his
Lord at first Providence (Baptist Church, "Tried Stone (Baptist Church,
and "West "End (Baptist Church, for several years, he served as an
instructor at QuadaCupe CoCCege and QuadaCupe (Baptist "IheoCogicaC
Seminary.
