REFLECTIONS
On June 28,1915, God gave to Fayette County, Tennessee a friend,
John Henry Coleman. He was the firstborn child of Kato W.
Coleman, Sr. and Mary Parker Coleman.
Through the practice of Christianity, John learned the value of
hard work, discipline and sharing. He professed a faith in Christ
at an early age and united with Wesley Chapel C.M.E. Church in
Sommerville, TN. Later he joined St. Paul United Methodist
church in San Antonio, Texas.
John's education included graduation from Fayette County Train-
ing School, Bachelor Of Science Degree from Tuskegee Institute,
Tuskegee, AL., further training in auto mechanical engineering
was done in West Virginia.
He was a veteran of World War I and served in the European
Theater.
On March 20, 1943, he married Ida B. Diggs in Paducah, Ken-
tucky. For 64 years they enjoyed a loving and fun-filled life to-
gether.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kato, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife; four sisters:
Arizona Pettus, Evelunn Draper, both of San Francisco, CA;
Hortense Carpenter and Bennether Brown, both of Sommerville,
TN; and a host of relatives and friends.
