-OBITUARY
Larry Clay came into the world on September 18, 1959. He was born to
Rosetta and Jimmi Wilkins and lived amongst five brothers and one sister in
San Antonio, Texas.
Larry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal savior at a young
age while attending Holy Redeemer Church.
Growing up Larry excelled in and out of the classroom, demonstrating
morals and values instilled in him by his parents. He believed in hard work,
discipline, respect and family values.
He attended Highlands High School and was a bright student with a
number of opportunities following his graduation in 1978. Being the
dedicated individual we all know him to be he chose to continue his
profession which he started in 1977 as a carpenter at Architectual Millwork.
On March 26, 1979 Larry united in holy matrimony to his long time
friend Debra Floyd. Debra and Larry Clay were later blessed with two
daughters Tasha and Tanya Clay.
Larry was a devoted, loving husband and father who believed in
supporting his family. While doing so he balanced his career and family and
was very blessed to work alongside his brothers and friends who were also
his co-workers.
Larry later became a grandfather to five grandchildren; TSharea, De'Jaun,
Tay'Sia, De'Vaun and Tamia. He loved his grandchildren dearly and they
became a vital piece in his life.
Larry was a very dependable person for his family, friends, co-workers,
employers and never gave anything less than one hundred per cent (100%).
While raising and supporting his family he continued to follow his heart
during his spare time with fishing trips, mechanic work, cook outs, family
gatherings, carpenter work and his new favorite casino trips.
In 2008 Larry became ill and discovered there was not a cure. Over the
last two years family and friends watched him demonstrate strength, faith,
courage, devotion, love, respect for himself and everyone around him. Never
once did he ask "why". Instead he stayed positive focused, determined and
strong for everyone. Although others may wonder why. It is clear God did
not make any mistakes, he truly takes the best. For those reasons and many
more Larry Clay is greatly loved beyond the meaning and will be missed.
Larry Clay was preceded in death by his father Jimmi Wilikns; mother-in-
law Olevia Floyd, brother-in-law Namol Langram.
He leaves to cherish his memory mother Rosetta Wilkins; wife Debra
Clay, daughters; Tasha Clay and Tanya Clay-Cubit; son-in-law Anthony
Cubit; grandchildren T'Sharea Robinson, De'Jaun Cubit; Tay'Sia Robinson,
De'Vaun Cubit, Tamia Jackson; sister Diana Clay, David Wilkins, Elmer
Wilkins, Tom Wilkins, Melvin Clay, James Brown; sister-in-law Patricia
Wilkins, Bemice Wilkins, Lolita Wilkins, Connie Clay a host of nieces,
nephews, uncles aunts and many friends.
