BERTHA GILDER was born in Kennard, Texas to Mr,
Sam Gilder and Mrs. Minnie Gilder.
She confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined
Kennard Baptist Church in Kennard, Texas. After finishing
Kennard High School, the family moved to Wichita Falls,
Texas, it was during her early childhood that she met her
late husband, Sgt. Cleon Ards. They were married in
Houston, Texas, December 18, 1941.
In 1946, she became a member of Second Baptist Church.
She served with various auxiliaries of the church.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Minnie Fields, one
sister, Lois Gilder, two brothers, Archie Lee Fields and
Freddie Joe Fields and many friends.
