GREETINGS AND WELCDME
to the 2005-2006 school year. Our CHS stu-
dents had tremendous success last school
year in all areas, from athletics to academ-
ics to music to FFA. CHS teachers and other
school staff members obviously want to con-
tinue that success into this school year. I ap-
plaud our coaches and band directors and
UIL coaches, along with our students, for
having a super year.
We want to put 2004-05 behind us while
building on that past success for this upcom-
ing school year. I think the real key to the
continued success of our high school students
is for faculty, staff, administration, students
and parents to all work together with a com-
mon goal. That common goal is the education
of your child, preparing them for the rest of
their life. This is a daunting task and one that
requires a major effort from each student's
family and the education community.
Our students and faculty obviously know how to win and what it takes to win. We, as
adults, must be willing to encourage, cajole and otherwise "push'' our very capable stu-
dents into competing academically just as they do in extra-curricular activities so that
we can expand on our academic successes for the 2005-06 school year. Students, always
remember that hard work often overcomes more talent when talent doesn't work hard.
Students, never let it be said that CHS students are not hard workers.
With each passing year as a campus administrator, I am more convinced of the critical
role parents play in the success of their children. With your encouragement, your disci-
pline, your high expectations, your time and your help, your children will maximize their
success as students. Parents, you are the real key to the continued successes at Canadian
High School.
"Welcome back" to our high school students, parents, faculty and staff. Here's wish-
ing all of our students the most successful and rewarding school year of your life. Make it
a year of no regrets by always working hard at being your best. Seniors 2006, this is your
year—make the best of it!

CHS Library Aide Erin Waters
Erin Waters arrived in Canadianrecently when her hus-
band, Colby, accepted a position as the new City Manager of
Canadian. As the new library aide at Canadian High School,
Waters brings experience from three years teaching fourth
grade in Amarillo. She was honored last year as the Teacher
of the Year for Lamar Elementary School.
Waters grew up in Pampa and received her Elemen-
tary Education degree from West Texas A&M University
in Canyon. "I'm excited to be in Canadian," she said. "Mimi
Duncan [the former library aide] has been very helpful in
training me."
The Waters have two daughters, Hannah, age 7, a second
grader, and Emma, age 3.
CHS Counselor Sherese Ol.es
Sherese Oles is stepping into a role new for her—as counselor
for High School and Middle School. A native of Claude, Oles has
taught the elementary grades for six years in Channing. She re-
ceived her undergraduate degree at Oklahoma Christian Univer-
sity in Edmond, Oklahoma and attended Texas Tech University
in Lubbock.

at West Texas A&M University in Canyon. "I am very excited,"
says Oles of her new position. Her goal is to make sure that stu-
