Information of the Ricnt important and dccianive charnoter has
just been received fron Bexar, from unquestionable authority,
which in the opinion of this committee calls for the prompt at-
tention of the people.
The substance of th^n information is, that General Cos was

expected at Bexar on the 16 of this month with more tro-ps,
that he intended to make an immediate attack on the colonies,
that there wao a plan to try and foment divisions and discord
amonL the people, so us to use one part against the other, and
prevent preparation, and that the real object is to distrcy and
break up the foreign settlements in Texas
This committee have no doubt of the correctness of this infor-
mation, and therefore recommends,
That the people should maintain the position taken by them
at their primary meetings, to insist on theif rights under the

federal constitution of lo24 and law of 7 May of that year,
and union with the Mexican confederation.
That every district should send Liuinebers to the general con-
sultation with full powers to do whatever may hn necessary for
the gooa oi Lhe country.
That every district ou^ht to organize its militia, where it is
net already done, and hold frequent musLers, and that the cap-
tains of companies m^ke a return without delay to the ^^litic^l
