f,.- resolution—it was there confirmd and the quantity of land des- ignated by the Emperor Agustine by his Imperial Decree of the 18^T of Feburary last, and after the fall of the Emperor the whole was reconfirm^ by the Sovereign Congress of the Mexican Nation by a decree on the 10 of April which was approved pub- lished and orderd to be executed by the Supreme Executive Power on the 14 of the same month, and the grant and all the Decrees and papers relative to it is regularly recorded in the Secre- tary of States office in the City of Mexico, and in the Com- mandants Genl? office in ^onterr^y and in the Capital of this Province, and Mr. Austin also has a certified copy in his possession. Agreeably to the grants the title Deeds for each tract of land are made out in the name of the Govt and must be signed by Mr. Austin as the founder of the Colony, and by me as the Com- missioner appointed by the Govt for that purposes and certified copies of them all will be sent to the Capital of this Province and recorded in the public archives. Mr. Austin is also author- ised to establish a Record in office at the Capital ^f the Col- ony in which all the titles will also be recorded. I cannot too strongly recommend to the settlers the necessity of good order and of obediance to the constituted authority and that they should place full confidence in the founder of this Colony Mr. S.
