BEAUTIFUL LAKE CLIFF
THE DEMAND AND ITS FULFILLMENTWith Dallas the great financial and
industrial center of the Southwest,
making giant strides towards 150,000
population, the demand for a great
amusement park was apparent. In order
to realize this, it took men of unbounded
confidence in the future of
the city and a great deal of money.
The promoters of the proposition were
unanimous in their opinion that the
resort must be located where there
was water and plenty of it; that it
must be easily accessible and, in addition
to composing all the features of
a great natural park, it iust have all
the marvels, countless curiosities and
spectacular features of the great
amusement resorts of the country,
and, in addition, it must have 20th
century exhibitions and amusement
enterprises; it must be clean and high
class in every way. All of this has
been accomplished and today Dallas'
great amusement resort is an actual
and positive reality.
The scene of this beautiful resort
is located on the Northern Texas Traction
Company's line in the beautiful
residence suburb of Oak Cliff. There
on a splendid hill, overlooking the
entire city and surrounding country,
65 acres in extant, is beautiful "Lake
Cliff Park," Greater Dallas' new playground,
which already represents an
outlay for construction work alone of
$150,000.00, and which within a year,
in view of the contemplated additions
and improvements, it is estimated will
cost, land, buildings and all, in the
neighborhood of $250,000.00. The figures
as given are conservative and reliable.
Naturally, in exploiting an undertaking
of this magnitude, one of the first
questions is, "Who are the projectors,
promoters and parties in general directly
interested in the enterprise?"
The answer in this case speaks volumes
for the genuineness of the proposition
and for the ability to carry
it out on the broadest, most comprehensive
and consistent scale. Let it
be understood that it is, first of all
and above all, a Dallas enterprise.
Dallas capital controls it, and the
money invested is drawn wholly from'
the pockets of Dallas business men.
