and losing only three out of a
series of twelve games. Cheer
up and take your medicine boys.
The fact that Bastrop is playing ,
an all-home team, with the ex-;
ception of three salaried men, J
makes it a bitter pill for you to!
swallow.
The Elgin team r;as composed
of a nice set of young men; the
manager. Mr. Hal Meeks, the
prince of good fellows, and with
the efficient umpiring of Mr.
Frank Oliver, of San Marcos,
everything moved in perfect
harmony throughout the entire
series. The band which accom
panied the team discoursed some
nicc selections on the streets and
at the ball park during the after-
noon, which was enjoyed by
every one present.

city with Smithville next week-
will close the base ball season in
Bastrop, and the Advertiser is
indeed proud of the record our
boys have made this year. We

has made a record that will even
compare to the one made by the
Bastrop base ball team of 1912.
