—"Pluto" is an order in which
only Masons are eligible to mem-
bership. It was organized in
Bastrop but a very short time
since with something less than a
half dozen members, but it has
grown in membership wonder-
fully. And the interest does not
wane. Petitions for membership
are enrolled by the secretary and
the candidate must await hi*
J time. He impatiently longs for
his turn, often hogging the secre-
tary, to "shove him up a notch or
j two." Three candidates filth-
' ometl the mysteries of the "lower
regions," Tuesday night, receiv-
nit: lasting "impr ssions," which
will "burn" in their breasts and

On Monday night last, shortly
after midnight, Mr. J. .Sciiill heard
some one in his garden. He rose
from his bed. and with gun in
hand strolled forth to investigate.
He discovered a negro pulling
cabbage plants, even the growing
cabbage from the r< >ws. I le hailed
and fired one shot, but the negro
continued to gather in the cab-
bage, sii he fired a second shot,
yet the negro was too much in-
terested in his work to notice such
a little thing as pistol shots. Mr.
Krhard, aroused by the shots,
seized his "little gun" and rush-
to remain until resurrection day.
To the afflicted ones, the Advf.R- ^

sympathy.
