tion, said Tuesday, "It went very
well. A total of $8500 either came in
or was pledged that night, and
more has been collected since.
We're hoping to go past the $10,000
mark by fair time."
Margo said the social raised even
more funds for the Fair Association
than did a similar event last year
He commented, "There were a
good number of people there, and a
good response from the public."
At the social itself Friday night,
Margo exulted over growing sup-
port of the Fair by the Starr
County public.
Fair Association Vice-President
Roy Cantu commented, "I get real
excited about what's going on. We
want you to continue to talk up the
Fair. The community is behind the
Fair. We have a good board."
Cantu concluded, "When you put
the whole thing together, it has
been a tremendous community
effort."
DON'T DISMISS
JOINT PAIN
ATLANTA —Severe joint pain
should not be dismissed by an older
person as simply due to "old age," says
the Arthritis Foundation.
Any joint pain severe enough to keep
someone from getting out of bed in the
morning is not a normal result of age.
A person with severe joint pain could
very well have a form of arthritis or
other serious condition and should see
a doctor, savs the foundation.
