Computerfest Scheduled
For Ringgold Jr. High
Octoberfest is a traditional
festival held in some cities
throughout the world to celebrate
the coming of fall. At Ringgold Jr.
High, Computerfest I will be held
on Tuesday, Oct. 20 to show the
campus's interest in "high tech"
education.
The Computer Club will serve as
host, and is under the sponsorship
of Carlos Guerrero, who also
organized the activity, which is a
"first-ever" event for Rio Grande
City.
Several Jr. High clubs have
committed to participate. Other
campuses have been invited to
participate in Computerfest I.
Visitors will be shown the dis-
plays of local students' work and
demonstrations. In addition,
several computer companies will
have displays of their latest
hardware and software.
Guerrero said, "This will become
an annual event which promises to
provide knowledge and opportunity
for our community to become
active in the 'Computer Age '"
The public is invited to Com-
puterfest I on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at
the Multipurpose Center at 7 p.m.

To Be Held
Adult Basic Education classes
will be held by the Rio Grande City
CISD this fall, at Rio Grande City
High School and Grulla Jr. High
School
The classes will be offered from 6
to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and
Thursdays at those two sites.
At Rio Grande City High School,
the following courses will be
offered: G.E.D. class- General
Educational Development (high
school equivalency certificate):
ABE class Adult Basic Education
(to improve English and math
skills); ESL class- English as a
second language (to learn
English).
At Grulla Jr. High, the G.E.D.
class will also be offered.
To take these courses, a persons
must be a U.S. citizen or a legal
resident, and be 17 years old or
older and be officially dropped
from school
Registration for these classes is
free The classes will take place
from October 1987 to February
1988.

their daughter Molly with a "Quinceancra" on her 15th

honored their daughter, Molly, on
her 15th birthday on Aug. 29 at 6
p.m.
The Mass celebration was held at
Holy Rosary Church in Mission,
with Father Patrick McDonnell
officiating. The reception was held
in the Mission Community Center,
with approximately 500 guests
attending.
Music was provided by Henry
and the Glares and Mariachi de
Beto Segovia Miss Rivera was
escorted by Omar Espericueta.
Her maternal grandparents are
Mr and Mrs Alberto Herrera of
Rio Grande City. The paternal
grandmother is Mrs Carmen

Organization is scheduled for Wed-
nesday, Oct 14 at 7 p.m. in the
Auditorium at Fort Ringgold.
The agenda for this meeting is as

The Sheriff's Department has
issued its monthly report for
September 1987
A total of 75 papers were served
through the civil process, with
$1,091.36 being collected. A total oi
six calls were made to attempt
service in the civil process, and
$2,220 is in unaccounted service
from the county. g
A total of 438 calls were made,
and 171 arrests carried out. A total
of 36 traffic tickets were issued. A
total of 250 calls were taken inside
the office
A total of $325 was collected for
Justices of the Peace, and $2,805 36
was collected by the Sheriff's
Department and turned in to the
County Treasurer.
