Sonatina in C by Clemente; Daphne Munoz,
Mr. and Mrs. Adalberto Gonzalez, per-
forming Sonata in G by Beethoven; and
Yvette Palacio, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Rodrigo Palacio, performing a piece by
Beethoven. To end the recital, Mrs. Ix>pez
performed a waltz from the ballet Coppelia
by Delibes. Refreshments were served

in Cincinnati, Ohio. Host and hostess of the
recital were Mr. and Mrs. Adalberto

Barrera of Rio Grande City are the proud
parents of a son. Jesus Angel was born at
6:27 a.m. Nov. 4. He weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz. on
his arrival at Starr County Memorial
Hospital.
Nov. 15, a Woodmen of the World District
meeting was held in McAllen, hosted by El
Canipo "Haya" 3369 of McAllen. Magnolia
Grove 6167 members attending were Celia
M. Salazar, president; Aminta Reyna,
secretarv: Lolita S. Gomez,
vice-president; . Olivia Garcia, reporter;
Kransisca Vela, Teresita Rollins, and Maria
Griggs. W.O.W. State Rep. Robert
Bergstroin of San Antonio told nbout the
many kinds of insurance the Woodmen of
the World has and about the good programs
for the W.O.W. young children. Bergstrom
announced an extension of service for Area
Representative Enrique F. Mery and
commended him for his well-done job. Ruth
S. Marks, Area National Representative
from Rio Grande City, talked about the good
of the Woodmen Care and how they help
many people. This was the basis of the
National Convention report she gave in
Tennessee. District officers were elected,
follows President, Rogelio Cantu; Vice-
preseident, IJita S. Gomez; Secretary, re-
elected Carmen Cantu; Treasurer,
Sigifredo Zuniga; Escort, Salvador
Padilla; Musician, re-elected Aminta
Keyna; and trustees Alfredo Rodriguez,
Andres Arcente, and Rogelio Trejo.
Bergstrom installed the new officers. Camp
Zaragoza of Mission will host the next
district meeting. A luncheon was served to
all those attending.
The fifth grade Antelop football team of
the Immaculate Conception School was
honored with a pizza party at the close of
their football season. The party was held at
Pizza Hut, Nov. 17. Hosting the occasion,
was Francisco Garza, Jr., father of team
top scorer, Benji.

Father Peter Keraluin, OM1. founder of
the early Christian community of this area
was honored at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at la
Lomita Mission south of Mission with a plaj
and memorial mass on Ihe 109th an-
niversary of his death. Padre Pedrito, as he
was affectionately known, was one (if the
early Oblate (Cavalry of Christ)
Missionaries who often visited there on
horseback, serving over a wide wilderness
area and as far as Roma, where he ij
remembered as the builder of the old churct
whose original tower still rises above Rom;
Square. After years of devoted service
againg and weak, he lost his way and died or
the trail in search of his people Nov. 12,1872
holding the crucifix by which his remain
were identified years later.
The recreation of his life and death was
beautifully represented as a play by the J
young people and several novitiates of the
area, Father R.L.Snipes presiding. Scenes
from the play were shown on Channel 4 at 1C
