Robert Altman's'Nashville'
Opens Soon At Garmon
Robert Altaian's "Nashville"
is an explosive drama and a
human comedy that delineates
and interweaves the lives of 24
major characters during five
days in the country music
capital of the world. Although
1 netting is Tennessee, "Nash-
ville" is a much broader vision
of our culture, a penetrating
and multi-level portrait of
America at a particular time
and place.
ABC Entertainment presents
"Nashville," a Jerry Weintraub
production of a Robert Altaian
film released by Paramount
Pictures. The film stars David
Arkin, Barbara Baxley, Ned
Beatty, Karen Black, Ronee
Blakley, Timothy Brown, Keith
Carradme, Geraldine Chaplin,
F v;ert Doqui, Shelley Duvall,
Ai^.n Garfield, Henry Gibson,
Scott Glenn, Jeff Goldblum,
Barbara Harris, David
Hayward, Michael Murphy,
Allen Nicholls, Dave Peel,
Cristina Raines, Bert Remsen,
Lily Tomlin, Gwen Welles and
Keenan Wynn.
"Nashville" was written by
Joan Tewkesbury. The music -
much of it written and per-
formed by the actors them-
selves - was arranged and
supervised by Richard Baskin.
Executive producers are
Martin Starger and Jerry
Weintraub and director of
photography was Paul Loh-
mann. Altaian produced and
directed.
The political campaign of Hal
Phillip Walker is interwoven
throughout "Nashville," af-
fecting and touching the
characters in diverse ways. It is
a politically-based film about
our culture, but that is only one
of the many directions it takes.
"Nashville is a motion picture
that explodes like a grenade. It
is unlike anything you have
ever seen before, a unique
experience in the annals of film.
