You Sleep
More Than
You Think
Chicago — So you
didn't sleep a wink last night?
It probably isn't true and
you're getting more sleep than
you think.
"In fact, according to
medical research, true or total
insomnia is a myth, because it
would be impossible for
anyone to live very long with-
out sleep," reports Sally Ames,
sleep consultant to the Spring
Air Mattress Company,
Chicago.
Studies concede, of course,
that as many as 60 million
Americans suffer from insom-
nia. Some insomniacs really do
have difficulty tailing asleep.
Still others awaken several
times during the night.
"But," says Miss Ames,
"insomniacs do get more sleep
than they reali/.e, because even
though poor sleepers think
they're lying awake, they
merely tend to feel awake
when they're sleeping."
