ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL - Sfc I^onel Garza is being presented the Army
Commendation Medal by Col. Bruce E. Blair, Director of Enlisted Supply Dept. of the
Quartermaster School, as his wife, Felicia, looks on. Sfc. Garza was cited for distinguishing
himself by meritorious performance of duties while serving as an Instructor in the
Receiving Operations Branch, Storage Training Division, United States Quartermaster
School, Fort I,ee, Virginia. His award was for continued demonstration of imaginative
leadership, unique versatility and profound professional competence. Sfc. Garza is also a
recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Sfc. Garza is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cruz Garza Sr. of
Route 1 in Rio Grande City. The Garzas have three sons, I,eo, 10, Luis, 9, and I^auro, seven
weeks.

The election is for county
residents to approve or
disapprove of a hospital district
which if approved would give
the district taxing authority to
finance the operation of the
hospital which is presently
under construction.
The election is also for the
election of the board of direc-
tors of the new hospital. Those
