chartering a corporation for the pur-
pose of constructing, operating, and
maintaining improvements for storing
and delivering water; and declaring
an emergency.
The bill was read second time.Mr. Cain moved to postpone consid-
eration of H. B. No. 140 until 11:00
o'clock a. m., Monday, March 13.

H. B. No. 346, A bill to be entitled
An Act to amend Chapter 4, Acts of
the 43rd Legislature, 1st Called Ses-
sion, 1933 (Article 6243a, Vernon's
Texas Civil Statutes), by adding a
new Section 1A to authorize the Board
of Trustees for certain Firemen,
Policemen, and Fire Alarm Operators
Pension Funds to employ an invest-
ment counselor and to compensate
him from the pension fund; to amend
Sections 2 and 3, Chapter 4, Acts of
the 43rd Legislature, 1st Called Ses-
sion, 1933, as last amended by Chap-
ter 387, Acts of the 44th Legislature,
1st Called Session, 1935, (Article
6243a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes),
to increase the maximum permissible
deduction and rate of contribution by
participants to the fund; and declar-
ing an emergency.
The bill was read second time.
Mr. Allen of Gregg offered the fol-
lowing committee amendment to the
bill:
COMMITTEE AMENDMENT NO. 1
Amend Subsection (a) of Section
1A of H. B. No. 346 to add the words
"member of the Investment Counselors
Aocationi o f A-erica and" after the
word "a" and before the term " 're-
gistered dealer' " in line 36 of page 1.

adopted without objection.
