The House met at 9:00 o'clock
a. m. and was called to order by the
Speaker.S. B. No. 21, To promote safe
driving and to remove from the high-
ways the reckless and financially ir-
responsible drivers by providing for
proof of financial responsibility; and
declaring an emergency.
The bill having heretofore been
read second time.Prayer was offered by Rev. J. H. Mr. Yezak offered the following
Clark, Chaplain, as follows: amendment to the bill:"Our Father, in the midst of the
complicated situations of life and the
unsolved problems of the world, de-
liver Thy servants from any sense of
futility. Let them feel the support of
the prayers of hosts of true Patriots,
and above all the uplift of The Ever-
lasting Arms. Cause them to under-
stand that God's Power has never
been obstructed by difficulties, His
Love limited by the confusion of hu-
man plans. In Thy Name.-Amen."

LEAVES OF ABSENCE GRANTED

granted leave of absence for today
on account of a death in his family,
on motion of Mr. McGregor.
Mr. Williams of Scurry was grant-
ed leave of absence for today and the
remainder of the week on account of
important State business on motion
of Mr. James.
Mr. Loving was granted leave of
absence for today on account of im-
portant business on motion of Mr.
Carter.
Mr. Mangum was granted leave of
absence for today on account of im-
portant business on motion of Mr.
Reed.
Mr. Fleming was granted leave of
absence for today on account of im-
portant business on motion of Mr.
Wagonseller.
Mr. Kilgore was granted leave of
absence temporarily for this morn-
ing on account of important busi-
ness, on motion of Mr. Kazen.

tion (d) by adding after the words
