There are three applicants for
the postofficQ in this city, H. E.
Smith the present ineenibent.who
has been the efficient postmaster
for several years; .J. G. Barlow,
an able and honorable gentleman
who moved to McKinney a few
years ago to get school advantages
for his children, and Will Griffin,
a very worthy young business man
of this city. All have strong re-
commendations for the position.
Cotton Sale.
Two of the largest cotton trans-
actions ever made in McKinney
were closed late Tuesday after-
noon.
Kalli Bros, bought 3000 hales of
Heard & Pierce and J. W. Pur-
cell and 500 bale9 of Robert War-
rick.
The cotton goes to St Peters-
burg, Russia, and Rotterdam,
Holland.

Connty—Greeting:
You are Hereby Commanded To
summon Sid Yeargin by making
publication of this Citation once
in each week for four consecu-
tive weeks previous to the return dav
hereof, in some newspaper published
in your county, if there be a news-
paper published therein, but if not,
then in any newspaper published in
the 40th J ndicial District to appear at
the next regular term of District court
of Collin county, to be held at the court
house thereof, in McKinney on the 6th
Monday after first Monday in February,
A. D. 190*2. then and there to answer a
petition filed in said court on the l?th
day of October. A. D. 1901, in a suit
numbered on the docket of said court
No. 5203, wherein Mary Yeargin is
plaintiff and Sid Yeargin is defendant,
and the cause of action being alleged
as follows. That plaintiff and defend-
ant were legallv married on the 25th
dav of April, 1897, and lived together
as husband and wife until on or about
the 26th day of August, 1899 at which
time, the defendant without cause left
plaintiff. Plaintiff further charges
that during said time they lived to-
gether as husband and wife the defend-
ant treated this plaintiff in such a cruel
and inhuman manner that it renders
their living together as husband and
wife insupportable.
Wherefore plaintiff prays that the de-
fendant be cited to appear and answer
herein and on final hearing hereof, she
have judgment dissolving the bonds of
matrimony heretofore and now existing
between this plaintiff and defendant,
for costs of suit and general relief.
Herein fail not, but have before said
Court, on said first day of the next
term thereof, this writ,* with your
return thereon, showing how you have
executed the same.
Witness my hand and official seal at
mv office in McKinney, Texas, this
27th day of November, a. n. 1901.
